KINGSBURY FENCE

On Thursday 9th August volunteers pained an old metal fence at St Peter and St Paul’s Church in Church Lane, Kingsbury.

The request for help came from Gordon Lane who, himself, volunteers at the church.

Gordon says I remember buying the fence from Jackson’s scrap yard in Nuneaton back in 1968 for one hundred pounds.

The 100 metre fence had become worn and rusty. Gordon spent days chiselling away the rust ready for the young people aged 16 – 25 to paint.

“I’m very satisfied with what they young people have down, they’re a good bunch. It’s great that there are young people willing to help us out” said Gordon.
